Many people ask — especially before their first piercing — how they should prepare for the big day. What should you do before getting pierced?
A few basic rules
First and most importantly: if you feel unsure, or need more time, don’t hesitate to tell us. No one will be upset if you need to postpone your appointment.
Please inform your piercer about any potential concerns, such as infectious diseases, diabetes, hepatitis, pregnancy, breastfeeding, fear of blood, needle phobia, allergies, etc. It’s important for your piercer to be aware of these — for example, if you’re diabetic and feel faint, they won’t simply give you sugar without understanding your condition.
It’s very important not to arrive on an empty stomach. Low blood sugar increases the chance of dizziness or fainting.
Proper hydration:it is also essential, especially during the summer. If you feel thirsty at any point, please let us know — it’s an easy problem to fix.
It’s a good idea to prepare your body for receiving jewelry. Taking vitamin C and supporting your immune system, can help shorten healing time.
If someone plans to pierce you with a gun instead of a needle, it might be worth reconsidering whether you’re in the right place. You can read more about this here .
Trust your piercer, and allow them to guide you. They know what type and size of jewelry can be safely placed in each area. Don’t doubt their experience and expertise — they want the best result for you.
After healing, jewelry can be changed freely. If needed, your piercer will be happy to help you with that as well.
There’s no such thing as a stupid question. Whether before your appointment or after your piercing, feel free to ask anything — we’re happy to answer even the strangest questions. If you feel uncertain or uncomfortable about something, let us know and we’ll do our best to help.
If anything about aftercare is unclear, don’t hesitate to ask or read more about it here.
