Many people ask us \u2013 especially those getting their first tattoo \u2013 what they should do before their appointment. How should they prepare? What do they need to know?<\/p>

First steps<\/span><\/h3>

Make sure you\u2019re well-rested<\/strong>, and feeling balanced<\/span><\/span> both physically and mentally,<\/span><\/strong> when you come in. Please don\u2019t show up sick, with a cold, just recovering, exhausted from work, or hungover after a party. A long tattoo session already puts your body under stress, so there\u2019s no need to make it harder.<\/p>

Don\u2019t skip a proper breakfast.<\/strong><\/span> The people who tend to feel weak during a session are usually the ones who start on an empty stomach, especially if it\u2019s going to be an all-day appointment. Staying hydrated is just as important \u2014 drinking enough fluids helps keep both your body and your skin properly hydrated.<\/p>

Can I drink alcohol?<\/span><\/h3>

Alcohol can be be consumed before, during, or after a tattoo<\/span><\/strong>, term\u00e9szetesen csak \u2014 but only in moderation<\/span><\/strong>. If your skin is very dry, it\u2019s a good idea to start using a body lotion a few days before your appointment to properly moisturize the area.<\/strong> Trust us \u2014 it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>

Is it okay to get tattooed in summer?<\/span><\/h3>

Please choose your appointment date carefully.<\/strong> We don\u2019t recommend booking it two weeks before a vacation. On the other hand, getting tattooed on freshly peeling skin after returning from a holiday isn\u2019t ideal either.<\/p>

Right before your appointment, avoid tanning beds and sunbathing<\/strong><\/span>. There\u2019s nothing more uncomfortable than tattooing sunburned or irritated skin \u2014 especially for you.<\/p>

Will it hurt a lot?<\/span><\/h3>

In recent years, many products have appeared on the market that can effectively reduce pain. Beyond traditional painkiller tablets, various numbing creams (TkTX,<\/a>\u00a0Li-Pri<\/a><\/span><\/strong>) have also become popular. Some need to be applied before the tattoo session, while others only work once the skin has been opened. Most of these creams contain lidocaine and can put strain on the heart. If you\u2019re considering using any numbing product and aren\u2019t sure whether it\u2019s safe for you, it\u2019s best to consult your doctor beforehand.
